River trip update

Well, I conferred with the other instructor this morning and we both decided that I am simply too sick to go this year (head and chest cold/stomach bug combo that I've been fighting for over a week now). It will be the first time I've missed a field trip, ever. However, since germs travel pretty readily around a campsite, everyone will be much better off if I stay home.

They'll do just fine without me, I'm sure.

  1. Disappointing for sure...but now you can rest and get well. Gail

  2. I am SO sorry to hear that you are that sick. They may do fine without you, but they would do much better with you. Resist gardening, get some rest, get better.

  4. Oh bleck! How awful. I'm so sorry you missed the trip. Yes, they will be fine without you, but will you be fine without your trip? Maybe you'll have to do a make-up paddle as soon as you feel up to it. Hope you feel better soon! (At first I thought you were going to say that you and the other instructor had conferred and decided you had to bring your computers along so you could live-blog the trip remotely somehow!)

  5. They may be fine without you, but they'd be great with you! May you rest and get well and have a great opportunity for a river trip when you're better! If you want some vicarious paddling experience, check out my writer friend John Lane's Paddle-to-the-Sea blog at http://blog.mypaddletothesea.com/I'm sending condolences from a snow-bound night in Denver in the midst of a real spring blizzard. It took us five hours to drive the 98 miles from Fort Collins. It's spring in the Rockies....
